Privacy Policy

What we collect

We only collect what is needed to run the game and the website:

• Account info — username, email (optional), password (stored as a legacy MD5 hash so the original game client can log you in), creation date.
• Character data — in-game progress: level, class, equipment, eudemons, currencies, faction. This is required for the game to function.
• Server logs — IP address and timestamps of logins and donations, kept for fraud and abuse prevention.
• Donation records — your in-game ID, the donation amount, and the receipt or proof you send when you contact staff. Donations are handled directly through private message; no payment processor sees the transaction.

Cookies

We use a single sign-in cookie (.AspNetCore.Cookies) to keep you logged in for up to seven days. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies.

How we use your data

• Authenticate logins on the website and in the game client.
• Display rankings, characters and equipment on your profile.
• Apply donation rewards through the in-game mail system.
• Investigate exploits, duping, botting and other rule breaches.

We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertisers. The server is run on a best-effort basis with no commercial intent.

Password storage

Passwords are stored using the legacy hashing scheme that the Eudemons Online client requires. This is not modern best practice but is necessary for the original client to authenticate. Do not reuse a password from any other service. Pick a unique password for Chronicles. We recommend rotating it via Profile → Change Password if you suspect leakage.

Discord

Joining our Discord server is optional. Discord operates under its own privacy policy. Anything you post in chat there is visible to other members and to the moderation team.

Age requirement

Chronicles Online is not directed at children under 13. If we discover that an account belongs to a minor under 13, we will delete it. Players between 13 and 17 should ask a parent or guardian before playing or making donations.

Your rights

• Request a copy of the data tied to your account.
• Request correction of incorrect data (e.g. wrong email).
• Request account deletion. This wipes the account row, all characters, and all eudemons. In-game mail and donation receipts may be retained for fraud prevention up to 90 days.
• Withdraw consent to receive Discord announcements at any time.

Security

The website uses HTTPS in production. The MySQL database is firewalled, with access limited to the game server and the website. We will rotate credentials and notify affected players if there is a breach.

Intellectual property

Eudemons Online, its art, music, characters and lore belong to their original rights holders. Chronicles Online makes no claim to that intellectual property. If you are a rights holder and want content removed, contact us via Discord and we will respond promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page when the server changes, for example when we add features that touch player data. Significant changes are announced in #announcements on Discord.
